How Did Obama Do It?

This is truly an extraordinary time in American history. I still can’t believe that Barack Obama is our US president. This is truly an extra ordinary time. Five years ago no one knew who this guy was, and now he’s the man in charge of our great nation. How in the world could something that dramatic happen? And we won’t even touch the race thing. That is even more surprising and unbelievable. How did Obama do it?
I didn’t think that I would see a moment in history like this. I started becoming more interested in politics when I saw Obama in Atlanta during Fall 2007.
I said to myself, “It would be great to have this guy as our President. But no one even knows him! Besides, Hillary Clinton truly has more experience. At least with her in the White House there will be some diversity. But having a black man as a president won’t happen until my kids are in their 20 or 30s. And that would at least be nearly two more presidencies from now.”
Who could have imagined that it’s happening now? I really hate that my mother didn’t have the opportunity see a moment like this. I’m sure she would be overjoyed.
I hope that Obama realizes that he’s going to have some major problems to solve. The economy is in shambles.   There are a lot of professional people with over 20 years of experience that are out of work right now. When I read the news it is constantly talking about the amount of layoffs that are occurring here in Sandy Springs, GA, the greater Atlanta Metroplex and around the nation as a whole.
And where is the stimulus money that the Bush administration handed to the financial companies?
The housing marketing is in disarray. The real estate in Sandy Springs, Georgia is a mess. All of my friends are asking me why I got into the industry. I’m optimistic and know that this will end at some point. But I have friends that are losing their houses. Their ARMs and interest only mortgages are doubling and tripling in cost.
And there’s ton of other issues that Obama is about to face. I wish him the best. I don’t know how he did it, but I wish him the best.
And if Obama is reading this, I would love to meet you one day. Let’s do a deal together.
